Kruja means spring in Albanian. This town can really be called the spring of the Albanian people, because it was he who was the first capital of Arberia (the old name of Albania) in 1190. Later, the country fell under the rule of the Greeks, and even later - Ottomans. And in the Ottoman period, Kruja became a very popular place again, after the legendary national hero Skanderbeg made it his capital and united people of Albania.
